You can play for 10 minutes before needing to empty water? Nothing out of the ordinary there. A Hirsbrunner and a Miraphone are different horns. They will look different, taste different, react differently, smell different, they are different.

Have you had a chance to play the Hirsbrunner and Miraphone for others or a tape recorder and evaluate the differences in sound? This is what really matters. Sure, a horn that is comfortable to play is always nice, but an instrument which sounds great is what is most important here. Otherwise, most Alexander tuba owners would have never bought their horns.

A new horn may feel strange for a few weeks. Notice the word "strange". This is not the same as the word "wrong" or "bad". Try to keep the ears open and notice how the horn sounds as you become acclimated to it.

If the comfort level far outweighs any possible improvements in musical product obtained by the Hirsbrunner or if you prefer your sound on the Miraphone better than by all means switch back. No particular brand name is the end all/be all for everyone.

But please, don't base your choice of instruments on water drainage.
