the feel of the mouthpiece. Similarly polished, I doubt if any of us could really tell the difference between gold-plated and nickel-plated; but if nothing else, silver plating
will cause you to take twice as good care of you mp, gold will make you take ten times
better care of it. Less scratches & gouges on the rim, no out-of-round shank, etc. I've
had my gold-plated piece 20 years and it still looks like new except where my lips touch
it.
