I am in college right now majoring in music. My advice to you is buy used!!! Your money will disappear very quickly once at college....I found that out very quiickly. I am now in the market for a tuba, and I am almost forced to buy used. You can get a used instrument for 4000 that is juust as good as a new one for 4000. So just keep that in mind. You might also want to wait until you talk with your private teacher in college. He/she will be able to help you out in determining what horn is best for you. Don't rush it. If you don't find one by the time school starts, you can borrow a horn from the school. Good luck!
