My website project is coming along nicely, thanks to helpful suggestions from participants in this forum. More stuff is on the way, but I do have some passable diagrams now, and a downloadable spreadsheet that you might enjoy playing with. You can type any valve tubing lengths that you like into cells B2 -F2 and instantly see the result of every possible five-valve fingering. It tells you which note is closest, how flat or sharp it will be (theoretically!) and how much slide pull or push will be needed to correct it. It works for tubas in any key, and the result can be printed out on one sheet. I know I am not the first tubist to make such a spreadsheet, but would be pleased to read your comments and suggestions. I think mine is easier to understand and play with than Fred Young's, although not as sophisticated mathematically.
