Apples and oranges! I like my weril for what it is, a small horn that is comfortable to play. I would recommend it for small kids, perhaps in middle schools. The new King is a lot bigger (but not huge) and would be more appropriate for high school and college bands. A young person under 5 ft tall will find it pretty awkward to hold, and would be better off with the Weril. What I really like about the King is its lack of weirdness. Most of its competitors over the last 30 years have been absurd in one way or another. Here at last is a horn that is the right size and the right proportions, set up in a way that is comfortable for an adult to hold, and it plays well too! I do wish it had more in the 4th valve slide department (Why not 2 slides?) but I am glad that they tucked most of that tubing in where it won't get banged up.
