Do yourself a favor. As cheap as it is to get someone experienced to solder that nib back on, get go get it done, and take your entire instrument to check and make sure afterwards that the slide tubes didn't shift in relation to the ferrules and the crook.

With no experience, I would give you as a do-it-yourselfer a 75% chance of shifting the alignment of the slide tubes and making your slide not fit in your tuba.

Soldering is NOT "soldering". There are tricks involved in "painting" the heat on so that it is not where you do not want it to be. Also, with a job this small, there is no need for a first-time-outer's burned lacquer.
