John's widow gave me the info. She sold the Holton to Mel after John passed.I don't know if Mel uses it, he probably bought it for it's place in history (there is an LSO recording with Previn of Alexander Nevsky with Fletch, I presume on a Holton, that is to die for) because it was John's.
As for inspiration, the Holton is VERY different to a Neptune which is based on the same body as the PT6 but a larger bell and bottom bow, and the l/pipe enters the valves at a different angle.
