WGMS (classical station in Washington, D.C.) held a parady of the NCAA last week called the NCCA (National Classical Composers Association) in which listeners voted for the winner of composer "contests." There were 64 composers, and in the end, Bach beat out Tchaikovsky to "win" the final match (something like 65,000 votes to 40,000).
Maybe you should temper "Bach is not a good composer" with "I do not enjoy/appreciate/prefer Bach's music." This is art, not math (although some of you might disagree).
