Try this

1. Make a list of romantic composers that were schooled in the ways of/adored bach. Or were indebted to him in some way. I think you'll be surprised. I'll start you off: Bruckner, Mendelssohn.

2. Sit down and analyze a fugue or two from the well tempered clavier. If you still aren't amazed, learn some counterpoint rules and try and think one of these things through in your head over your morning coffee, like Bach did, never breaking a single rule.

3. Listen to more Bach. Not bach by brass ensembles. find some Glenn Gould recordings. just listen. Make sure you're not doing anything else. Often unlike program music, Bach's works may take a little more attention.

If you still don't like Bach atfer all that, then that's fine, but hopefully you'll have fostered an appreciation for him.
