Actually in the world of G Horns a G Tuba is considered a Euphonium or Bass baritone horn not a tuba at all. The pitches of the G horns fall into place with a version of key board nomenclature on the lines of GG contra Bass, G Bass Baritone or Euph or Trombonium, G Tenor horn or French horn, g mellophone or alto horn, g Soprano and g1 Piccolo soprano
This layout other than pitch is very similar to a traditional Brass Band but don't try and tell the G Horn players that. Untill recently in the past 15 years all the music for said horns was written in treble clef. No need for transpositions just octave skips. For years these horns were not considered reall instruments at all which got around alot of copy right law so some have said. Go figure...
