Like I stated earlier, your question is impossible to answer because no college excels at everything, and you never state what your idea is of a good college. Do you want to be a soloist? An orchestral player? Do you want to dabble in composing? More than just dabble and compose some tuba concertos? Tell us EXACTLY what you are looking for in a college, and EXACTLY what your idea is of a bargain and perhaps you'll get some help. Even then it might not happen, because there's a reason why we stress the importance of finding a college that's right for YOU, and it's not because we, as you say, are "a bunch of know-it-alls."
