My undergraduate school, James Madison University in Virginia, has a music industry degree in which you can focus on music technology. There is a strong computer science program and very strong media art/design and integrated science & technology programs, which are awash in most of the U's budget. Kevin Stees is the tuba/euph teacher there and he's outstanding as a player, teacher and mentor. There are also great caves just a few miles away and the marching band can be fun if you're into that sort of thing. I don't know much about the engineering program (Virginia Tech is the place for that in VA) but please take a little time to see if all the other technology stuff at JMU is up your alley.

feel free to email me for any contact info at the school. www.jmu.edu is a good place to start.

good luck.
