Hi Dan, I bought my lacquer finished Besson 765 from Woodwind & Brasswind (www.wwandbw.com) for $1399 last October. I believe they had the silver plate at that time for $1459, I prefer the lacquer finish myself. If you talk to them, say hello to Mike Russo and Jack Saltzman for me. They can answer just about any question you might have.
