I hope that Sean doesn't remove this thread, because it gets at the heart of the difference between a gig and a gift, and that line has to be drawn by everyone, sometimes even amateurs. And the quality of the discussion really glows in the dark.

To both Joe's: My interpretation of that particular statement by Jesus is simple (hopefully not simplistic). The Pharisees were asking him about money, and he was interested in their hearts.
