Risking making a comment that doesn't follow the thread very well, I've noticed that some of the OLD ("plastic rotor" era) 4/4 ROTARY Hirbrunners REALLY sing and also are playable in tune...
...As I've said before, I don't think rotary valve tubas are "in vogue" anymore...no matter the playing characteristics.
