I tried the Sony Mics mentioned except for the top end. I wasn't that impressed. Without dropping a bundle, for a few more bucks try the Audio-Technica AT822. I have been really happy with it. It actually does my 6/4 Nirchl justice. 10-15 feet away is optimum.
