Harvey Phillips once told me that "CCs are more flexible, I belive." He also told me that William Bell told him: "Young man, you will never get anywhere as a professional unless you play a CC." If you are looking for facts and measurement, there isn't any here, just opinion. Bell did a lot of work on an Eb and could play anything he wanted to well, as can Harvey. But there are no good answers to your question.
