I purchased mine from Joe S. at Mid South Music in Memphis. He is very pleasant to work with and just as honest in his business dealings as he is in his postings here.

Characteristic sound? - Mine sounds like a big hairy redneck playing a tuba... sounded a lot better when Ike H. took a blow on it. There are others who could probably give you a better eval but it sounds like the little Yamahas, pretty big for a small horn. The bottom end pops out surprisingly nice (the low F is a little tough to get in tune). There aren't many quirks on the high end but definately no major intonation issues.

Pricing - Call Joe I think his number is 901-458-8791... Make sure to ask about demo/b-stock, I picked up a "demo" Nickel plate for well under $2K.

These are nice little horns for the money.

Good luck

Rick
