I would agree that the 56J is not a very good horn. Not only does it lack presence, but I found the higher end to be really stuffy....espcially around D and E. Perhaps it was my own style of playing. If you are really looking to buy a horn, this is what I have learned:
PLAY WHAT YOU SOUND GOOD ON!!
Just because it is a $15,000 instrument doesn't mean that is the horn for you :)
