I am in a small quartet consisting of two trumpets a trombone and euphonium. For the most part our rehearsals had gone well, yet a number of them were not in full because our trombone player had a habit of sleeping and forgetting to come to them. This became a problem for us because we had to perform two weeks from them. So we actually gave him one more chance. He failed to show up at the next rehearsal so we went and told our coach as well as the trombone professor. He was able to grab a not only fine trombone player, but also a good friend of mine, and she came in and, with little practice time available, gave a great performance for us at the recital. As I learned, you should always have a back up plan for a situation like this cause it can really help. Good luck though.
