Abe Torchinsky is taking this summer off from the Aspen Music Festival and Paul Krzywicki is replacing him. Krzywicki will miss the Mann Music Center and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center concerts with the Philadelphia Orchestra. His replacement will be Ed Diefes of the Syracuse Symphony and a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music. Diefes has been the #1 sub with the Orchestra through 3 substitute auditions. Vacation time and a light summer season will allow him to fill in. If Mr. Torchinsky chooses to not do Aspen in the future Krzywicki will be available to continue. This does not infer that Krzywicki is about to leave the Orchestra, but continue to remain with the Orchestra for at least another three seasons.
