I have played the bass book for our school's musical the past 5 or 6 years. It is much more fun than the tuba book. You play the whole show. You actually feel a bit tired at the end of the night! The shows that we did that were really interesting were Wonderful Town, Carnival, Sound of Music, Anything Goes & George M. I've done Barnum too, that is a fun show. Nothing like a huge tuba solo to start off the second act! My favorite show was Sugar ( Iplayed bone on that one). the book really swings!
