I've figured out why those sandwiches at all of those Manhattan diners are so absurdly huge:

With them its not the food that you are buying, its the butt-space. They've got to charge BIG $$$$ to be able to afford to offer you some of that expensive Manhattan rear-end room.

They could offer you a normal (or even large sandwich) but they would still have to charge a fortune for it, so to appear "fair" they give you a 2 pound sandwich for your $25.

I went and heard a relative play in the Hall this last Christmas. Its really quite a manificent venue...' a place that truly lives up to its reputation.
