I've been on the diet since August 2001 and I've lost 65lbs. The key to the diet is low carb, no sugar, no caffeine, AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER! I have never had trouble. In fact, I've never felt better (as an adult anyway). My playing, especially the ability to breathe freely, has greatly improved. Sounds like your problem is something else. Atkins is very safe and effective when done properly. Good luck.
