Helleberg style mouthpieces work very well with this tuba.
A Doug Elliott R or T cup works great with it and also a Helleberg mpc with the throat enlarged works well too.
The only stuffiness I have encountered was in the F and Eb 1 octave below the staff. Those are the only 2 notes in its whole range and the Gb 4th space is very easy to play.
I have no problems with intonation and I thought the sound was very good and the tuba is very agile with a great middle and upper register.
Try a funnel or Helleberg mpc and see if you have the same problems.
