As far as auditions, if a school does not have specific requirements, prepare two contrasting pieces that showcase the best of what you've got. Don't pick something that is too difficult for you - a teacher is going to be more impressed with an intermediate piece that is prepared very well than an advanced piece that is hacked up. I played the first movement of the Broughton Sonata and Blazhevich Etude No.9.
