I don't play Eb full-time, HOWEVER I have played several Eb tubas in the past year. The one I like the best, and considered purchasing, is the Miraphone compensating Eb. This is just a great playing horn. Has a big, dark sound. There is nothing I don't like about the horn. The Besson Eb I played was a new 3+1 compensating with a smaller bell, 17" I think. It was OK and had a little brighter sound. I wasn't blown away by it. Finally, the Willson Eb seems to be everyone's favorite. It is on the big side, but plays well. And it should for the price.
Also, I have heard good things about the Gronitz Eb tuba. But they are hard to come by here in the south.
I think the Miraphone is the best buy.
