After years and years of trying to resurrect instruments that I've sold and consumers have destroyed, I've decided that:

All school tubas get "tumped" over around five times per school year . Once three years has passed, there is about a 100% chance that one of those times the #1 rotor stem will have been bent, and a 40% chance that it will have been bent irreparably. Rotors cannot be ordered "stock" to replace destroyed ones (as with pistons). They are individually fit to their casings.

The worst that usually happens to "tumped" piston tubas is bent or broken off valve stems...
