On Friday, I'll be accompanying (on piano) three
entrants in the Solo Competition: Bob Reifsnyder,
baritone horn, at noon; Amy Nelson, cornet, at 2:00
(Amy has won 3 consecutive NABBA Solo Competitions);
and Teralyn Keith, percussion, at 2:30.
At 3:15 on Friday, I'll be the lone tuba in the
Chicago Brass Band Players (10-piece group)
performance of the Bach Brandenburg Concerto #3 in the
Small Ensemble Competition.
We're not supposed to discuss in what order the
various bands are scheduled to appear (integrity of
the "blind" adjudicating, etc.). Suffice it to say
that Chicago Brass Band will be playing in the
Championship Section in the VERY early afternoon on
Saturday.
I'm the short, somewhat overweight (just started the
Atkins Diet last week) tuba player in Chicago Brass Band.
