The 842s is just like any new horn or improvement model: You have to play on it and see if it fits you. After spending countless hours at conventions playing on every euph available, I had long ago come to the conclusion that (for me) it just doesn't get any better than my good 'ole Willson 2900SL that I've played for almost ten years. Then earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to spend a few days with Adam Frey and play-test his new 842s. Aside from the funky valve grooves that his horn has, it's just a spectacular horn. The sound, intonation, and smoothness of airflow is just impeccable (for the way I play anyways). I liked it so much, in fact, that when the opportunity popped up to buy one, I did. Just throwing in my two cents.....
