Meinl-Weston's and Willson's price increases can probably be attributed to the exchange rates. The dollar goes down in value, thus the makers lose money, and to get more money out of it, they simply charge more to compensate. This is a more lengthy version of what's on Fedderly's site. Yamaha's price increase could also be attributed to this, but I suspect that the dock strike and the war don't help matters Maybe Yamaha euphs have just been seen more as an instrument of great value lately.
