I agree as well. I bought a 4/4 C Hirsbrunner many years ago and I LOVE it. I don't expect that I will ever part with it. If I need a bigger tuba I will buy one in addition to the tuba that I have (you mentioned that money is not an issue.....). If I had money to paper the walls with, I would first buy a HB21 then a great small tuba (Eb of F) then last of all (if necessary, that is) an HB50 or the PT6.

I use the HB21 for large ensembles and rarely ever feel like it is not large enough. BUT I can also use it to play in quintets and solo literature. Good luck playing a quintet gig at a wedding with a HB50! That would be funny. But very impressive if you could do it tastefully...
