By absolute pitch I mean the same key on a piano. A low note for a trumpet that is a high note for a tuba.

As to the size of the opening for vibration, I'm not at all sure that the size of the aperture is any different on the same absolute pitch. Jacobs talked of just using the center of his embouchure for high-range work, as if he was playing on a trumpet mouthpiece.

When work has settled down, I'll reread what didn't really stick when I read it last week, and bring it back up.
