Let me first begin by saying that i know there was extensive posting about this in the wake of Sept. 11th, but little has been said recently and wanted to check to see about an update.
I'm traveling to Germany with my brass quintet this summer and obviously am taking both a suitcase and tuba with me. I plan on bringing the horn in a hard case, a large suitcase for clothes, and a backpack (carryon) In speaking with a trumpet prof. here at Ithaca who has traveled overseas recently, he said i should be fine boarding the plane in the US, but once in Germany, they don't really like to put two checked items onto the plane. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
