Besson has had varying patterns of stamping/engraving their instruments over the last century+. Yet they usually are fairly easy to recognise.

An Indian maker fakes the Besson brand with similar stampings/engravings, but calls his instruments BessonS.

Found a fotomontage of an instrument engraved Mastertone Besson SWL. I don't think it is British or French, even if it is built like a French style Saxhorn basse en Si bemol.Neither does it look like the Indian small euphs much promoted on auctions.

A Google search on the words and letters engraved on the bell gave no result. I would be most grateful for information helping me to trace the origins of this instrument.

The photomontage is most likely to disappear from here. It can then be found via the link given below here. Yahoo identity = brassphotos and password = public can be used.
