I don't know how consistant the Harvey CC tuba I have is with the rest of the tubas produced in the line. The problem with the one that I have is that the pitch is about 15 cents sharp with the mainslide all the way out. Also, the construction of the horn that I bought is a little bit questionable. The first valve slide is funny in the sense that you don't get to use the whole slide while trying to adjust the pitch (it would be better, in my opinion, to take the lower moveable part of the slide and make it available to the right hand so that the whole length of pipe is available to move). The other drawback is a few sudden changes in the direction of the piping (most noteably the third pipe running on the outside left of the horn). In the end, I bought it because I liked the tone, flexability, durability, and the price tag (I got it with a Johnson case for $4,000.00).

My opinion for what it's worth.
