Whatever floats your boat. If it works out that you like the sound your getting while your brass section likes it then you are already ahead of the game. Sometimes you have to be the tuba politician and compromise between you and them to make something happen for the audience. But most importantly think musically. Base it on sound and not feel of course...learned that in TUBA SOUND 101. Have fun!
