The only way a PT6 would make the Rudy Meinl C-50-5S(the technical name for this model)obsolete would be if the PT6 was the only tuba in the world. I had a chance to play on this horn at Brasswind, and found it to be just about the best tuba I've played. There might be a bias toward piston CC horns in the U.S., but calling a Rudy Meinl obsolete is like calling the tuba obsolete. It is at least equal to or better than any B&S I've heard. This statement is like a previous post suggesting that you are guaranteed to sound better on a CC tuba. Unbelievable.
