Hi,

I'm a student working on the Effie Suite by Alec Wilder for some auditions and for fun, I've been trying to work out how to finger the trill in the Carnival movement in the 10th measure from the Eb to the D. I'm playing in on C tuba which makes it awkwards because playing the Eb open is really flat. I do have a fifth valve and tried playing on the BBb side of the horn, but that was really flat too, and I tried to play with the BBb side of the horn too and got the Eb in tune using 5th and 2nd valve but then couldn't get the D in tune without some crazy fingering . . . Is my only option to lip the Eb in open CC horn going from open Eb the 1st valce D or should I use the BBb side of the horn and lip both the Eb and D up using 51 and 512? or is there another option that I'm missing. Thanks a lot,

Julie
