The Gronitz F is a great tuba. If I was looking for a piston valved F tuba, that'd very likely be the one I would buy. It's a great sized horn - big enough to sound like a tuba and not a euphonium, but not so big that it sounds like a CC tuba. The pitch is good and the low register responds well.
I like the sound of rotary-valved F's better for the most part, which is why I own a Pre-PT B&S Symphonie Model F.
