Bob Rusk, last I heard, gets $2000 to convert a BBb tuba to a CC tuba, and then he only does it for unique and valuable instruments that otherwise would not realize anywhere near their full value. And this is the conversion, not the overhaul or any other repairs.
I can't think of any BBb in any sort of decent condition, if it was good enough to be worth the attempt, that when added to a couple of grand wouldn't get an equally good CC tuba.
