I am one of those 'niche market' guys. I love my Yorkbrunner and in fact, I may go over to Switzerland to buy a SECOND instrument. If Holton/York/Whoever built a really great 6/4 tuba, there would be a large market within the pro tuba community. The problem is in the R&D, and tooling. It would cost thoudands and thousands for the R&D alone, the cost would be prohibitive. The best bet is for Holton/Leblanc to sell the mandrels to Hirsbrunner or Dillon or Geherhardt or whomever and let THJEM make th horns. it could be done with w percentage going to Holton/leblanc, and the tuba word would benefit from the addition to another world-class orchestral sized horn. A Word about the Phillips horn - it's nothing new. many choices out there that do what this horn does. CB(GB)50, Piggys, MW2145, S-186.
