You know, I know nothing about the guy at all. I was just going to back up the one guy that said you should check out the Atlanta Mahler recordings. I recommend the 6th symphony recording. I got to see the NAtional Symphony Orchestra perform it while I was studying with David Bragunier of the NSO, and not only odes the piece blow me away, but the power of the brass in the piece. It is so violent and moody for most of the piece, and then in mvmnt 4, first with the tuba solo in the beginning and then with the brass choir at the the, just emotional. A piece you should check out not only for Mike Moores great sound and all, but for Mahler. YOu mentioned you are in an orchestra so you probably already know all this, but here are my 2 cents!!
