I once owned a piece of property for which I paid $60,000 and then did MAJOR repairs and improvements. Years later, I lucked into a fantastic deal on a much better piece of property and decided to sell the $60,000 property. I thought, "Well, I paid $60,000 and fixed it all up. Surely someone will pay $85,000." No one offered $85,000 nor $75,000 nor $60,000. I finally sold it for $47,000.
Unfortunately, your tuba might be a bit like my piece of property. I wish you the very best, but if $3000 doesn't generate interest, try $2500. The person who BELIEVES that a thing is "worth" some given amount MUST be the buyer (and not the seller) for a sale to occur.
