The version I have has notes from the composer to the performer. They are good: read them.

Also, this piece is a novelty piece, and not at all serious. So, remember as you decide how to interpret it that the schmaltzier, the better. For example, the cadenza that reiterates the theme down low at first should start so slowly that it is almost a caricature of a tune. Think Saturday morning cartoons and you'll have the right idea. Also remember that the low notes in the cadenza are the ones you need to impress the audience, not the high notes, so really make them ring. One performer I heard dropped the final note into the pedal range and really moved earth with it, and it was more effective than the written closing. The audience should be smiling as you play it, which means you have to be smiling, too (internally, of course).
