Martin serial number lists can be a little odd. I own 4 Martin tubas and have in the past contacted Leblanc, (current owner of the Martin name) for dates of manufacture. If you go to the Leblanc website (www.gleblanc.com) they have instructions on how to contact them for this information. Leblanc will only respond by "snail mail" and it usually takes several weeks, but they do respond. I say some lists are odd because one of my tubas has a # in the 116,000 series which was dated by Leblanc at 1935-36. Yet, I have an EEb which has #4111 on it which some lists date at 1955(!) I know that the horn isn't that young from the style and condition of it, so I trust Leblanc's lists more than others you might find. Good luck.
