While the YCB-621 *can* play pretty loud, the problem with its use in a large ensemble is that the horn lacks the tonal density to provide a substantial foundation for a LARGE ensemble. I am drawing a distinction between tone's loudness and its density, in my mind, two very different issues. (I still believe the horn to be the "perfect" quintet horn!!!)
