In my opinion Leland is a wise guy, even outwitting other mediae. But:

Any Eb tuba does deserve better than even the best bassbone mpc!

All of my bass instruments from euph trough bassbones and Eb basses to BBb’s do accept large bore stems intended for even the largest tubas.

So my surprise was immense, when my PT-50 hardly could enter the leadpipe of a circa 20 years old Imperial BBb temporarily provided by my band.

Turning down stems is an obvious option, but there might be even more attractive choices.

Denis Wick has a L line relevant for my instruments. And a non-L line for narrower leadpipes.

Perantucci, the PT maker, announces 4 stem sizes. And an immense variation of with to volume combinations.

My contact person to the PT show is, in all my modesty, the very Bob Tucci:

If your requests will be met with the knowledgeable service provided me, then you will be well off.

But be sure to tell precisely of your specific tuba, your personal playing style, and the style of your musical environments.

All the best

Klaus
