I'm a little amused by these suggestions to move the stand. Where I play, there's never enough room, and the horns always want more. I have to place the stand where it's in a line with the conductor (my maestro is worth watching-even slightly blurred) and out of the way of the bass trombonist. And I still think it's the overworked right eye that requires the most correction, while my left eye is nearly fresh as a daisy. Maybe there's an operation to get them reversed.
