The biggest issue with getting a large tuba trunk into your car is the size of the opening you use. Using a car door, for example, can be really frustrating. Most car doors can't accomodate a tuba trunk. What I always looked for is a hatchback door. When I first got my gig I owned a VW Rabbit that had a hatch in the back. I could carry anything in that car because the hatch dimensions were so big. Ironically, when I switched to a Toyota Camry, a much bigger car, I then had no way to transport my Anvil trunk. So I solved the problem by getting a Ford Expedition. No problem.
